El Torneo de Futbol de la GLW (Deportes)

La comunidad Anrod School se estremeció durante el recién jugado Torneo de Futbol de la GLW. Muchos tenían expectativas radicalmente diferentes sobre cuáles serían los resultados. Se podría decir que el Torneo dio una especie de giro al final.
Estos son los honorables equipos que jugaron:

Los equipos que lograron llegar a la semifinal fueron:

• Los Hermosos  vs. Diablos F.C, con los Diablos ganando en penales.


• Los Profetas vs. Winpot, venciendo Winpot en un 4 a 2

Y así, en la final se enfrentaron estos dos grandes que son Diablos F.C y Winpot, saliendo los Diablos como merecidos vencedores. La gran y esperada final emocionó a las masas de nuestra escuela y unió a los fanáticos del mismo equipo.

Como parte de este articulo, hemos tenido la fortuna de entrevistar a Miguel Ángel Pérez Ledezma, quien jugó durante este evento:

Miguel, antes que nada, gracias por hacer esta entrevista con nosotros. Dinos, como te sientes después de haber jugado en el torneo de la GLW?

• ¿Cómo me siento?, pues… siento que pude haber dado más, asi que no estoy satisfecho con el torneo y lo que hice.

¿Cuáles eran tus expectativas?

• Ganar el Torneo y ser el goleador del Torneo.

¿Te arrepientes de algo?

• No…

¿Planeas hacer algo diferente durante el torneo del próximo año?

• Si, quiero más integrantes en el equipo con mejor condición.

¿Tu novia, María Paula, afectó de alguna manera tu forma de jugar durante este Torneo?

• No…

¿Te gustó tu forma de jugar?

• Si, aunque siento que no hice todo lo que pude haber hecho.

¿Qué te pareció tu equipo?

• Algunos buenos, algunos malos.

¿Tienes algún lema en la vida?

• “Cuando todo se pone más oscuro, es que ya va a amanecer”

Taller De Fotografía (Química)

¿Qué Aprendimos?

En este taller de fotografía aprendimos las funciones de la cámara, como el ISO, que es que tan sensible es el sensor de la imagen a la luz, el diafragma, que es que tan abierta esta la cámara así como que tanta luz entra al lente, y finalmente, la velocidad de obturación, que es el periodo de tiempo que está abierto el obturador.

También nos enseñaron como es la relación entre el fotógrafo, su asistente, y la modelo. El fotógrafo le dice lo que quiere al asistente, y mientras el toma fotografías, el asistente motiva a la modelo de actuar de la manera que se le indicó.

Adicionalmente aprendimos el aspecto artístico de la fotografía, como tomar una foto con corazón y alma.

¿Qué hicimos durante el taller?

Aparte de lo que nos fue enseñado, también tuvimos actividades, como en el segundo día que tuvimos un pequeño rally de fotografía en donde cada quien llevaba su cámara y tomaba fotos que representaran "orden, "desorden" y belleza. En mi opinión, fue algo divertido e interesante, pues cada quien tomo algo diferente y cada quien tenía su propio concepto sobre las palabras.

En el último día del taller, tuvimos otra actividad en donde alguien era fotógrafo, otro era el asistente, y otro más era el modelo y los roles se iban cambiando. Fue algo divertido y debo admitir que cuando me tocó ser modelo, lo detesté, sin duda prefiero fotografiar.

Química y Ciencia en la Fotografía

Una de las fórmulas usuales de un revelado químico normalmente contiene bromuro potásico, carbonato de sodio, sulfito sódico, además de los agentes reductores de tipo orgánico, como polifenol, la poliamina, o el aminotenol. Las proporciones de cada compuesto varían y dependen mucho del acabado que queramos realizar, por lo que encontraremos una vasta variedad de productos.

Para conseguir imágenes fotográficas, se utiliza una película con contenido en halogenuro de plata, que será el compuesto químico sensible a la luz, dentro de una suspensión compuesta por gelatina en estado puro. Dependiendo del tamaño y la cantidad del halogenuro de plata presente en la película, se dirá que ésta será más o menos sensible. A esta sensibilidad también se la conoce como velocidad, la cual se presenta en grados, conocidos como ISO.

La luz que entra por el objetivo hace que inicie un proceso físico-químico, haciendo un punto concreto de sensibilidad en el compuesto de halogenuro de plata, obteniendo la imagen latente que será revelada más tarde al ser sumergida en el líquido revelador, siguiendo un proceso redox, que transforma al halogenuro de plata, en plata de tipo metálica y de color negro, lo que hará que la imagen sea visible (en blanco y negro).

Photography Workshop (Edaly)

On this year's GLW, I decided to choose the Photography Workshop. I had always been interested in photography, so when we were told to choose between all the workshops, it wasn't really hard at all for me to do it.

The workshop was given by three people: Tomás Rubin, his girlfriend, Desiré, and his mother, Coral Rubin. The first three days we worked with Tomás and Desiré, and the last day with Coral. Here is a reasonably detailed day-by-day descrpition of what we did on those days:

Day 1

After meeting Tomás and Desiré for the first time, they thaught us about the ISO, which is how sensitive the image sensor is to light, the diaphragm or iris, which is the opening at the camera, and it's job is to control the amount of light that's coming through the lens, and finally, the shutter speed, which is a term that represents the time that the shutter remains open when taking a photograph; this along with how open is the diaphragm, determines how much light reaches the sensor, or ISO.

Minutes later I noticed that my camera had turned off, due to lack of battery, and there was nothing I could do. Nevertheless, I went outside with the others to take some test photographs, and a very nice camera was lended to me.

Day 2

On this day I went fully prepared, with a different and better camera, and, of course, the battery was to it's fullest.

We had a type of Photography "Rally", where everybody went outside and individually took photographs that represented "Beauty", "Order" and "Disorder". It was a really fun activity because each of us had a different idea of these concepts and everybody was going to every part of the school to see what they could find.

Day 3

The Photographs we took the day before were shown on the proyector and we discussed which one we liked best out of each category, and why. It was very interesting to see what the other's pictures looked like, and compare them to the ones I took. This was Tomás and Desiré's last day with us, and before the final goodbye, they cleared all our doubts related to Photography.

Day 4

Our first day with Coral. From the very beggining, she told us she wouldn't be teaching us any technique, but the artistic aspect of Photography, to give your heart and soul in everything you do, and she also showed us how things worked between the photographer, his assistant and the model. The photographer explains to his assistant how he wants the model to act, and while he takes photographs, the assistant motivates the model to satisfy the photographer's needs.

Then we made an activity where each of us took the role of a photographer, an assistant or a model. It was very interesting, and I've got to say I prefer being a photographer, rather than a model.

Conclusion

To sum everything up, I have to say that this year's workshop was very well given, was lots of fun, and I learned a lot of new things which will be very useful whenever I'm talking a photograph in the near future.

Tecnonogía en la GLW (Informática)

La tecnología, al menos en mi caso, jugó un gran papel durante esta esperada semana de la GLW, comenzando por el Blog. Sin la ayuda de la tecnología, probablemente hubiéramos tenido que escribir todo a mano, y hubiera sido tardado y tedioso.


Adicionalmente, la tecnología me ayudó durante el taller de Fotografía, y sin la ayuda de los avances tecnológicos, probablemente tendríamos que usar las viejas cámaras análogas, lo cual, pensándolo bien, no hubiera sido tan malo. En fin, mi conclusión es que hoy en día vivimos conectados con la tecnología, y nos ayuda en todo tipo de problemas de la vida diaria, haciéndonos la vida mucho más fácil.

Datos que no Conocías Del Cuarteto de Liverpool (Música)

A más de cuarenta y dos años de su mítica desintegración en 1970, The Beatles aun siguen sonando alrededor de todo el mundo, uniendo a viejos y a jóvenes. Hoy en día, gracias al internet, mucho se puede saber acerca de ellos, pero ¿crees saberlo todo?

A continuación, diez datos interesantes y anécdotas sobre lo que fue el grupo más revolucionario de todos los tiempos:

1.      The Beatles tuvieron 21 sencillos número uno en Los Estados Unidos, más que cualquier otro músico o banda. Elvis tuvo 17

2.      Ellos fueron la primera banda en ser transmitida globalmente por televisión, vistos por 200 mil personas en el año 1967, interpretando la recién escrita canción "All You Need Is Love"

3.      Hicieron el primer concierto en un estadio, el Shea, en Nueva York, frente a 56,000 personas.

4.      Han vendido más discos que cualquier otro, con 1.3 billones.

5.      Su canción de 1965 "Norwigean Wood (This Bird Has Flown)" es la primera en la música popular en llevar citara, instrumento introducido a la banda por George.

6.      La mítica "Yesterday" escrita por Paul McCartney es la canción con más covers en la historia (Más de 2,200).

7.      Su primer album, en 1963, fue grabado en tan solo un día.

8.      Conocido por ser uno de los grupos más versátiles, ellos tocaron en diversos géneros y sub-géneros, como Country, Folk, Music Hall, Hard Rock, Blues. Etc.

9.      "The End" fue la última canción que grabaron los cuatro juntos; En ella Paul, John y George tienen solos de guitarra y Ringo de batería.

10.  Después de su separación, hubo fuertes rumores de que volverían a juntarse, esto, por supuesto, no sucedió, sin embargo, en el álbum de Ringo Starr de 1973 "Ringo" aparecen los cuatro Beatles, aun que sea en diferentes canciones.

The Global Leadership Week (Edaly)

Anrod School just went through the long-awaited Global Leadership Week, and what do the students think about it? Well, the majority of them are generally quite satisfied with this year's event and everybody seems to have liked all of the conferences and movies.

Now it's time for me to give my personal opinion, starting with the selection of students to be Staff. Most of the students chosen were "perfect for the job", however, they also chose several people that  didn't work properly, and really did not contribute much. I think that the Staff should be selected more thoughtfully next time, in order to have a better GLW.

About the week itself, I must say it was extremely well done. The lectures and the workshops were given by trained and experienced people and the films, at least the ones I saw, were quite well chosen. This year I decided to take the Photography workshop, which was quite great. We were taught the functions of the camera and some of the artistic part of Photography.

It's now time for me to talk about the Blog. On one hand I thought it was a good idea to do it all on the internet, that way it's more accessible for teachers to read, but I wasn't particularly satisfied with the way we had to work on it. First, the work had to be done individually, whereas last year three-person teams were assigned, which made it easier and more entertaining, and second, a year ago we had a whole week at school to work, but this year there wasn't, which, in my humble opinion, isn't really acceptable

Additionally, the work several teachers assigned had little or nothing to do about what happened on this week. I think that leaving an assignment that is entirely different from the conferences and workshops isn't very convenient

So to sum everything up, the GLW had a couple of negative points, I think there are much more pros than cons, making this a week of enjoyment, learning and culture.

Memoria (Español)

Bien recuerdo aquel día en el que comenzó la semana de conferencias y talleres, conocida oficialmente como la GLW en el Anrod School. La temperatura bajó bastante en aquella mañana de Mayo, mientras nos sentábamos en nuestros lugares para la primera conferencia. De pronto, llegó el esperado conferencista, el Licenciado Tejada, quien habló sobre los delitos graves, los cuales incluyen matar, robar, violar. etc., y no graves, como fraude.
Acabando la conferencia me dirigí a a la primera película que vería, “El Artista” de la cual no tengo más que buenos comentarios acerca de ella, realmente me agradó. Es una pieza de arte y es muy interesante y cautivante.

Al finalizar la película, fui al primer día de mi taller, el de fotografía, el cual fue una gran experiencia para mí y mis compañeros, pues conocimos las funciones de la cámara, convivimos juntos al aire libre, nos enseñaron el aspecto artístico de la fotografía además de que Tomas, Desiré y Coral, los instructores, siempre nos asistieron y ayudaron cuando era necesario.

En el segundo día del taller hicimos un pequeño "rally" de fotografía afuera, en donde cada quien tomaba tres fotografías que representaran Orden, Desorden y Belleza y aunque yo no haya tomado las mejores, creo que fue una divertida actividad.

Para finalizar el taller, hicimos una actividad que consistía en que cada quien era un fotógrafo, un asistente o un modelo, y los roles se iban rotando. Las primeras dos veces yo fotografié, y en la última fui modelo, lo cual no me agradó mucho. Fue una actividad interesante, a decir verdad, y definitivamente me gustó más ser fotógrafo.

El miércoles hubo otra conferencia digna de ser mencionada, la de Willeibaldo, persona que trabaja en seguridad pública y desactiva bombas. Su conferencia realmente fue interesante y de las mejores, si no es que la mejor. Nos hablo de su trabajo, de las redes sociales, del peligro que se puede correr en cualquier lugar y cómo reaccionar ante un asalto o secuestro.

Debo admitir que no vi todos los partidos del torneo de futbol, pero los que si vi fueron bastante buenos, con la emoción culminando en la gran final, en la cual también estuve presente, en primera fila, por cierto.

El rally fue el cierre de la GLW, y se llevo a cabo el viernes, y fue razonablemente divertido. Hubo todo tipo de retos y preguntas y aunque no me tocó el mejor equipo del Anrod, aún así logramos llegar al segundo lugar, obteniendo una pequeña placa.

Siempre recordaré esta semana y todo aquello que nos enseño, las experiencias, y los buenos momentos, e indudablemente ¡estaré impacientemente esperando para la GLW del siguiente año!
